This 3-CD box presents the incredible dense work of Swedish improvising masters, Roland Keijser and Raymond Strid. They have both taken music to new levels – in different times and directions – throughout their long and wide artistic life, being front figures for Swedish creative music internationally and important inspiration for new generations of creative artists. This long-awaited master meeting gives a melodic blend of traditional Swedish folk songs and original compositions/improvisations of varied characters where a certain amount of Afro-American accents as well as recurring echoes of Turkish, Indian, Chinese and Arabic inflections might be detected. Needless to say, their special interpretations/arrangements of these diverse points of departure are always spontaneous collective creations out of each particular evening’s unique atmosphere.
