“Die Harke und Der Spaten” [The Rake and the Spade] is a musical stage play with 8 scenes, for one singer/speaker and a musical ensemble. The tools – the rake and the spade – are presented during the performance in different positions, serving as the starting point for the scenes, recounting the “Love life of garden tools”. This composed-improvised piece is featured here in a version recorded in Malmö in 1998, with an incredible all-star cast of some of the most relevant improvisers on the scene today.
